Drilling procedure
  1. Make a hole in a waste wooden board (30mm to 40mm (1-3/16" to 1-9/16") thickness) with the 70mm (2-3/4")-dia. cutter. You will use the wooden "core" as a guide.
  2. Attach the "core" to the center drill. Fasten the "core" using the guide plate, gummed tape, etc. so that the "core" cannot fall or move back and forth.
  3. Fit the "core" to a pilot hole; and start cutting using the "core" as a guide.
* To prevent the "core" from falling, remove it halfway through the drilling, which ensures safer work.

[Precautions for expanding holes in ALC material]
When expanding holes made by cutting reinforcing bars,

be sure to use the "Hyperdia core bits".
* If you expand holes made by cutting reinforcing bars, by the use of a carbide cutter, there is a danger that the cutter and ALC panel get broken. Never use any carbide cutter in such cases.
* Using an ALC core bits to expand holes made without cutting reinforcing bars presents no problem.
Drilling procedure
  1. Make a "core" that serves as a guide, by the same procedure as expanding holes in wooden material, and attach and fasten the "core" to a cutter to be used.
  2. Fit the "core" to a pilot hole; and start cutting using the "core" as a guide.
* To prevent the "core" from falling, remove it halfway through the drilling, which ensures safer work.

[Precautions for expanding holes in hard siding boards]
Be sure to use the "Hyperdia core bits". The use of carbide-tipped cutters may burn or break the cutting teeth.

[Precautions for expanding holes in concrete material]
Be sure to use the "Hyperdia core bits". Using the Drimond core bits may cause one-sided wear or chattering.
Drilling procedure
  1. Use the Hyperdia core bits as the center drill type.
  2. Prepare three guide plates (for 70mm (2-3/4") Hyperdia core bit) separately. Attach the three guide plates to the tip of a cutter and fit them to a pilot hole as shown in the photo, and start cutting using them as a guide.
* This drilling procedure is applicable to the holes made using Miyanaga core bits. In some cases, it cannot be used for holes made by other manufacturers’ core bits, because of differences in hole diameter.
* Take note that the service life of the Hyperdia core bits may be shortened depending on the extent to which reinforcing bars are cut, the properties of concrete material, and others.
